Greetings from Gary: back to top

Happy New Year! I hope this find you and your family doing well after the holidays. It is hard to believe that 2006 is here. It looks like it’s going to be a great year at Heartland.

February will mark the one year anniversary for our new lodge. The response has been better than we expected! The seven luxury suites, remarkable dinning hall, and large conference facility have been very popular with our guests.

If you need a retreat after the holidays or just have cabin fever, give us a call, we would love to see you this winter.

Retreats

As we begin another year at Heartland Lodge, we are looking forward to the return of our previous guests and the introduction of new guests to our unique facility. With people staying close to home and spending more time with family we feel Heartland is going to be a very popular destination again this year.

Along with all of the activities and beauty Heartland offers, many guests are discovering exciting “day trips” from the lodge. One of the most popular outings is the Great River Road Trip. Spend the day driving up and down both sides of the mighty Mississippi River. The Great River Road and National Scenic Byway on both sides of the river provide stunning views of the river and the surrounding countryside. You will pass through towns like Grafton, IL and Clarksville, MO. These towns are known for their antique stores, great dining, and spectacular eagle watching. Both of these towns come alive during the peak eagle watching months. (January06-March)

For more information on the Great River Road Trip and other enticing day trips from Heartland Lodge, call our office or look on our web page www.Heartlandlodge.com.

God Bless!

Whitetail: back to top
We close another chapter in the history of Heartland Lodge. 2005 was yet again a fun and exciting season. From the father who watched his son harvest his first deer to the hunter who harvested that buck of a life time. We harvested 22 P&Y Bucks this season which you can check out on our website www.Heartlandlodge.com Our larger bucks this season were a 169”, 160”, 156”.

Although this season is over there is not much time to relax. Soon the bucks will shed there antlers, and while I shed hunt I will be studying the sign left in the woods. Any time in the woods is a good time to be scouting, and formulating new plans for next season. Also as the spring approaches and the ground dries I will be in the fields working on our food plots, both existing and new.

I am sure you are still thinking of your own season and the one that got away, or memories of your success in the woods. With spring and summer upon us again our lives get busy with outdoor recreations. Don’t forget to make your hunt plans for next season, we still have openings scattered through the season, but they are filling up fast. Please feel free to contact me with any question or for further information.

Have a great year and hope to see you this fall!
