Heartland Lodge and Illinois waterfowl hunting cannot be compared to any other duck hunting area in the United States. Hunt diver ducks such as Canvas Backs along the great Mississippi River; or Mallards, Wood Ducks, and Teal in the flooded bean, corn and millet fields.
Heartland is excited to announce that for the first time our hunters will have the opportunity to hunt an exclusive location called Crooked Slough. Crooked Slough is a private waterfowl setting in Illinois that has never been open to public duck hunting! This natural spot for ducks consists of flooded fields and heated pits. The locals consider this waterfowl hunting spot one of the best in the Mid-West!
Art Rodenberg is the owner of Crooked Slough and will be managing our waterfowl hunts. This secluded duck hunting spot has been in his family for over 70 years! Art has been waterfowl hunting all his life and comes from a life in corporate America. His attention to detail and excellence in customer service will assure all of our bird hunters a quality experience.
The experience doesn't end in the field. You'll instantly feel comfortable with home-cooked meals and friendly staff who are always at Heartland Lodge.
Waterfowl Hunting Conditions: >>
We provide pits and blinds located in flooded corn, bean, and millet fields. We like to take groups of 2-4 duck hunters. Pits and blinds are heated. Guests are driven to within a short walking distance of pits, shortly before legal shooting hours. Our professional waterfowl hunting guide will have decoys set and dog in place in anticipation of the morning's excitement.
Waterfowl Hunting Options: >>
Duck Hunting - mallards, pintail, widgeon, gadwall, wood ducks, and teal along with Canadian geese from our flooded fields.
Waterfowl Hunting Packages: >>
