I know some people like to celebrate the new year with a little down time…enjoying the peace and quiet after the holidays…and the lodge is the ideal spot for a little R&R. Just imagine…a roaring fire in the fireplace, a made-from-scratch dinner or brunch to warm your tummy, and the peace and quiet of the entire lodge experience. If you reserve one of the several suites available, you can also enjoy a soak in your very own private Whirlpool tub! AND at the end of the day, you’ll love crawling into the comfy, cozy bed…I’m relaxed just thinking about it! And if you are lucky enough to be there when it snows, what could be more enjoyable than the lodge in the winter snow? Of all the times I’ve been to the lodge, I’ve never been to the lodge after a snow…it’s still on my bucket list!
Recreational Activities During Your Winter Getaway!
But what if you are the outdoorsy type…chomping at the bit to get out and enjoy Mother Nature in the cooler temperatures. Don’t worry…Heartland is the perfect spot for you as well. If you have an ATV, UTV or dirt bike, bring it – you’ll be checking out the trails all day! And if you don’t have an ATV, you can still enjoy the trails by renting a UTV from the lodge. You can also shoot a round of sporting clays during your stay…a great way to get in some target practice!

So hopefully, I’ve given you some ideas on how you can enjoy the winter months…AND plan a getaway!
