AUGUST 1ST, 2011 UPDATE: Starting tomorrow (August 2nd) you will be able to purchase your archery tag directly from the IDNR web site. Just go to http://www.dnr.illinois.gov/hunting/Pages/LicenseInfo.aspx and click on "Online License Sales". Please let us know if you have any questions.

It’s time to start thinking about your application for any non-resident archery tag. The proposed application period for the non-resident lottery is June 1 – June 30, 2011. Hunters will be able to start the application process on June 1st at 12:01 am.
All of our hunters are encouraged to get their applications and licenses on-line at http://www.dnr.state.il.us/. Click on the top right icon: “Online Licenses for Fishing and Hunting”.
You will apply for the Non Resident Archery Permit (E/S and A/O), as an individual, and through an outfitter. A list of outfitters will appear, you will click on Harpole’s Heartland Lodge Inc. and our outfitter number will automatically appear. There is an Outfitter’s Preference for a maximum 7500 permit applications that are designated with an Outfitter Number.
In addition to a valid deer hunting permit all hunters are required to purchase either a 5-day or annual Hunting License and a Habitat Stamp. These, along with your archery tag application, are available by phone at 1-888-6PERMIT (1-888-673-7648), or on-line through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources at: http://www.dnr.state.il.us/
