Illinois First Gun Season
The Illinois first gun season was a very successful one for us. We had 91% of our hunters see shooter bucks and 75% had shot opportunities at shooters. Many of our hunters passed 130”-140” deer looking for something bigger. Our numbers reflect the same as the overall Illinois state deer harvest numbers. Illinois deer harvest was up 8.5% and once again Pike County led all counties and had an increase of 10% over last year. Our entire deer camp was almost all repeat hunters who make Heartland Lodge part of their annual deer hunting tradition. Below are a few pictures from our first gun season.

Jack Schwietert and guide Kris Stricklan with his nice 132" 9pt

Mathew McPhillips (Guide was Matt "Yankee" Brunet) with his nice 130" 7pt! His 3rd deer in 4yrs!

Dog Roy and his guide Adam Smith with his 138" 11pt
Please give these guys a "LIKE" for a memory that will last a lifetime.
