Pittsfield Public Library

Main library houses important sources of genealogy information. Children's library offers books & other resources to middle school & junior high age children.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

North Pike District Library

Founded in 1887, the North Pike District Library is a Carnegie Library that was built in 1916. See their website for complete list of programs and services, including a children's story hour.

Monday: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
2nd Saturday*: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

*Weekend hours scheduled only on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Illinois State Library

The Illinois State Library is the main resource for the state government and has a collection of more than 5 million items. The library subscribes to several electronic databases and services, allowing patrons access to thousands of additional resources. It also serves as a regional federal documents depository and houses more than 185,000 maps. The Illinois Authors Room holds an extensive collection of first-edition books by Illinois authors.
