Governor Duncan Mansion

The Governor Duncan Mansion is a living history museum and was once the home of the fifth-elected governor of Illinois. The mansion houses many of the original family furnishings. Suggested donation.

Woodlawn Farm

This home is the showcase homestead of Jacksonville's Underground Railroad Network and former slaves were shown to freedom through this home. Tours given by docents in period dress. Suggested donation.

Underground Railroad Driving Tour

Jacksonville was a hub for the Underground Railroad in the mid-1800's and has at least nine documented sites related to this journey of freedom. Although most of the sites are private residences, many can still be seen from this driving tour.
