Whitetail Deer Hunting

2013 Whitetail Deer Hunting Report

April, 2013 - After spending the winter and early spring shed hunting and scouting it looks like a lot of nice bucks made it through another Illinois deer season. Many sheds were found in the 3 – 6 year old age, and ranging from 130”- up to 170” (matching sets and one side). A lot of mature deer have also been seen during the turkey season.  Right now, the upcoming fall season looks good. We will keep you posted as the summer progresses.

To get your “deer hunting fix” this spring and summer, watch John Brewer's video on the massive 173" buck he harvested on the last evening of his hunt this past fall.

Deer Hunting Outfitters

When looking for a hunting outfitter, especially a whitetail deer hunting outfitter, you need to make sure you do your home work. There are so many Illinois outfitters and many are located in Pike County and West Central Illinois. New deer outfitters are popping up every year and whitetail hunters should make sure they have been in business at least 10 yrs. When hunting with an outfitter make sure you ask all the questions and if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
