We have four private luxury cabins, arranged as two duplex buildings, each of which contains two cabins with a shared wall. The 1st pair, closest to the road, are Charlie’s Cabin and the Double Barrel Cabin, they make up one duplex, while the Long Shot Cabin and the Decoy Den Cabin, the two furthest from the road, are in the other. The two duplexes are just a short walk apart. All four cabins are directly across the road from our Original Lodge and Prairie Ridge Lodge.
What’s included in the Cabins?
Each romantic cabin is decorated with its own unique theme. All cabins are carefully crafted with knotty pine and cedar walls, fifteen-foot vaulted ceilings, hand-carved Old Hickory furniture, fixtures and appliances. Each cabin has a whirlpool hot tub and fireplace also features an ultra-comfy, king-size bed, large 4K HD television with 4K Blu-ray player, relaxing private deck with barbeque grill, fully equiped kitchen, and private fire pit to roast marshmallows or to make your own s’mores.

Decoy Den honors the rich, storied traditions of waterfowling along the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers in Pike County. It speaks to early mornings in the blind, hand-carved decoys, and the deep-rooted waterfowling traditions that shape both hunter and heritage. At Heartland Lodge, it’s more than a name - it’s a call back to where the hunt begins.

Charlie, the owner's lab, is a nod to loyalty, comfort, and the quieter joys of lodge life. While Charlie may not win any awards in the field, she’s a champion napper and expert in relaxation. Her easygoing spirit lives on in this warm and welcoming cabin. It’s a peaceful escape with plenty of personal touches, laid-back charm and tail-wagging comfort.. just like man’s best friend would want. Keep your eyes open for her - she enjoys lounging by the kitchen door looking for scraps. (Please don't feed her.. she's on a diet 🙂 )

Things to do
You won’t want to leave the pleasure of these cabins, but we encourage you to take time out and enjoy our many lodge activities or sightsee at the many local attractions that are an easy drive from the resort. There are two sets of cornhole games for the private luxury cabins as well, providing a fun entertainment option for you and your guests, no matter the age! Unwind and have a great time with this classic game right at your doorstep! ATV riders are able to park their ATVs and trailers close to the cabins in our parking area.
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen for those of you who enjoy cooking your own meals. Or if you prefer, you may enjoy our home-made meals, dine out at one of the local restaurants or choose from our favorite meal options.
