Pheasant Hunts

Our guided pheasant hunts are the best you will find. Even though all of our properties have both pheasants and quail, some hold mostly pheasants. Hunting pheasants behind our pointing dogs can be an exciting experience!  We hunt along fence rows, food plots, and native prairie grasses. We manage our pheasant hunting properties to create a one-of-a-kind pheasant hunting experience!

Quail Hunts

Hunting wild quail in Illinois, especially in Pike County, has been a tradition that goes back for generations. The native prairie grasses of Illinois are ideal habitat for coveys of quail.

These same traditions continue on at Heartland Lodge. Many of the farms we quail hunt are just like “Uncle Lyle’s farm.” The farms still have the old fence rows, native grasses, and a mixture of food plots and grain fields. This prime habitat ensures that coveys of wild quail are scattered across all of our properties.

Snow Goose Hunts

Snow goose hunting along the Mississippi and Illinois river flyways can be some of the most exciting and action-packed snow goose hunts available!  There are no limits and no plugs! On our best day we harvested 250 snow geese!

You will hunt out of very comfortable heated, pit blinds. Our spread consists of several thousand decoys along with several electronic callers to bring in the snow geese. A hot breakfast will be served in the morning inside our blind. The professional guides, dogs, gourmet homecooked meals, and accommodations are all included in the price of our snow goose hunts!

  1. Would really love this with my son and grandson! We’re trying to regain our normalcy after the Camp Fire destroyed our hometown last November 2018.
Please let me know if we can book something or what that would create unforgettable memories for us!
    Thanks

  2. Would love to take my wife and hunting buddy Maggie on a spring snow goose hunt like this. As she’s an outdoors writer for a number of publications, she could write a number of articles about our trip!!!

  3. I hunted ducks and geese since I was I little kid until my late 20s. Had kids and stopped, now my ten year old son wants to start hunting geese, got him a dog 3 months old now trying to train him and a dog lol. Wish for something like this to get him hooked for his first hunt!!! I remember my first hunt at 7 years old, sitting in the bottom of my Grandpa’s boat just south of scaw creek refuge and the amount of birds that were in the air, I was hooked

  4. I would really appreciate being able to introduce my son to hunting snow geese and quail hunting. He is 18 years old and I would like to keep him from heading in wrong direction.

  5. My 13 year old son Thunder is my Hunting partner and now he is enough to shoot it’s becoming really exciting for all of us

  6. This would be a awesome hunt for my son and I. We just started waterfowl hunting last year and I think he is hook. Living in southeastern Indiana isn’t the best place to hunt waterfowl but we have a great time trying. It would be great to take him to a flyway and hunt. Thanks

  7. I would love to win this hunt for my nephew and myself. We hunt pheasant n quail and deer together .I’ve never waterfowl hunted but he tells me its a blast would love to find out.

    They are ages 21 & 24

  9. Always looking for a new good place to take our family raised GSPs. Basic education with a twist, as we raised over 1200 quail for that basic education. Bird dog = plenty birds

  11. I’ve killed thousands of ducks and geese but anymore they are hard to come by,,Im 65 years old and my grandson is 25 would love to take him on a really good goose hunt before I leave this ole earth some day

  12. I didn’t have the chance to hunt with my son due too his mom and I divorce. During his growing up we found out he has juvenile diabetes. Insulin was so expensive that I sold hunting gear including guns to buy insulin. He is grown now and really into hunting. I’ve started replacing my stuff and hopefully we will be able to hunt together now. He wants to be a hunting guide and has been training in Alaska.

  13. I suffer with Multiple Sclerosis and am not as able to get around like I once did. I would have as much fun just being there and watching others hunt and have fun.

  14. My son just received his foid after months of waiting and this would be a great first hunt for both us with his new card

  15. Snow goose giveaway this sounds like the ultimate. Im 63 now and i can remember my dad packin me on his back along with a dozen decoys and his shotgun and my bb gun for my first hunt. Yep fondest memory i have God Bless my pop

  16. The Snow Goose/Upland Bird Combo Hunt Giveaway looks like a great opportunity! Would like for my father and I to get our first goose or pheasant as him and I are from Florida. My family and I started hunting when I turned 13 years old and we have not killed much over the years. There is a season for geese in Florida, but I think it takes up unnecessary space in the “Hunting Regulations Magazine/Handbook.” The words “goose,” “Florida,” and/or “pheasant” are never mentioned in the same sentence. Also, I met a guy from the skeet range I go to and he reminisced about the times he hunted in Illinois when he was younger. From what I can tell based on his hunts, whoever wins this giveaway will not regret it.

  17. I would love to do this with my son. I came down with influenza A and was sick most of the fall. I’m 70 years old and time is running out.

  18. Would loe to watch the white birds work the decoys! Thanks for the chance if I am the lucky winner it would be a tough to decide who I would bring along! I get the chance to watch the migration over here by the Mo. River!

  22. I have water fowl hunted in Ohio . Been out west pheasant hunting . My son has always wanted a out of state hunt . I have not had the chance to take him . This would be a opportunity of a life time hunt
