We have put together another fun weekend for everyone to enjoy! We are partnering with our good friends at Hopewell Winery, Mark Twain Cave, Cave Hollow West Winery (the Mark Twain Cave Complex) and Mark Twain Brewery for a Winery and Brewery Tour Weekend! Enjoy wine and beer tasting, a brewery tour, cave tour, historic downtown Hannibal, Missouri, wonderful meals, first-class accommodations, and a lot of fun with your friends or significant other. After a long week of meetings, laundry, ringing phones, and e-mail updates, don’t you think you deserve a weekend full of fun?

This will be our Third Annual Winery and Brewery Tour Weekend, and we anticipate it selling out quickly! Please call 217.734.2526 to make reservations. Reservations CANNOT be made online (dates are blocked out online.)

Check in – Get settled in and explore the lodge. Like billiards? Poker? Chess? How about just relaxing outside with a good book or going for a walk through our expansive grounds? Use this time to relax and enjoy some down time.

The Best Brunch in Illinois! There is nothing quite like waking up to the aromas wafting from the lodge’s kitchen. Eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, fresh baked bread and much, much more will be served!

Board Tour Bus for Trip to Hannibal.
 

Bus will be parked in front of the Original and Prairie Ridge Lodges. (Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the bus.)

Travel to Hannibal, Missouri 

10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Travel to historic downtown Hannibal, Missouri, where Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher will personally welcome you! Drop-off location and brewery is across from the Tom & Huck statue (#20 on map).

Free Time Downtown Hannibal 

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Hannibal, Missouri

Tom and Becky will greet you with welcome bags that will include coupon books for local discounts!

 
Enjoy free time in downtown Hannibal. There are many great things to see and do within walking distance while visiting. At 11:15, Tom & Becky will be offering a private tour of Mark Twain’s Boyhood Home and Museum ($8 paid directly to the museum.) Some of the favorite fun things are:

Mark Twain Brewery

12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

 

Mark Twain Brewery
  • Meet back at Mark Twain Brewery
  • Enjoy a beer flight – sampling of several beers
  • Enjoy a slider duo (pick two): pulled pork, pulled chicken, or burgers
  • Brewery tour – small groups will be taken through the area where the beer is brewed
  • Games – fun games to play in the banquet room
  • Amazing view of the Mississippi River from the bar on the 2nd floor (stair access only)

Mark Twain Cave Complex

2:15 – 4:15 p.m.

Board bus outside of Mark Twain Brewery and travel to Mark Twain Cave & Cave Hollow West Winery. (Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the bus.)

 

Enjoy a tour of Mark Twain Cave along with wine sampling at Cave Hollow West Winery!

Mark Twain Cave is not handicapped/wheelchair accessible; however, the wine tasting and gift shop areas are handicapped/wheelchair accessible.

  • Wine tasting
  • Dinner – House salad, twice baked mashed potatoes, asparagus tips with hollandaise sauce, fettuccine alfredo, marinated grilled chicken, and dessert.

Load bus and travel back to Harpole’s Heartland Lodge. (Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the bus.)

Free time at Heartland Lodge –

Enjoy a beautiful day in the great outdoors. Take a scenic hike to help you get back to nature or enjoy one of our fun activities.

Explore our miles of scenic trails while horseback riding ($39 per hour) or riding an ATV (ATV/ACE $70/hr. & $1,000 damage deposit required. RZR $125/hr. & $1,500 damage deposit required. Two people can ride RZR.) You can also try your hand at sporting clays ($40 per round or $30 per half round.) Gun rental and shells are available. You can also shop and see the sights at our many area local attractions. All activities are weather permitting.

11:00 a.m. Check out – Check out of your room but feel free to continue participating in any of the above mentioned activities.

Prairie Ridge Lodge*

  • Luxury Suite – $383/person (2 people) and $326/person (3-4 people)–Sold Out 
     

Sunset Valley Lodge*

New Private Romantic Luxury Cabins*

  • Private Romantic Luxury Cabins – $425/person (2 people) and $375 (3-4 people) per cabin. Sold Out Perfect for late arrivals on Friday and those wanting to enjoy a private cozy breakfast in their own cabin.  Meals at the lodge are not included but winery tour meals on Saturday (lunch & dinner) are included. Each cabin has a full kitchen and barbecue grill. These cabins are extremely cozy, romantic and nice!

  1. Is the bus for the trip into Hannibal handicap accessible? No wheelchair needed, but she uses walker and steep stairs are a problem. MB
