Solo Hunter Spring Snow Goose Hunt Packages
Enjoy a solo snow goose or snow goose/ pheasant combo hunt this spring! Snow goose hunting along the Mississippi and Illinois river flyways can be some of the most exciting and action-packed wingshooting available! There are no limits during the spring conservation snow goose season! You will hunt out of very comfortable heated, pit blinds. Our decoy spread consist of several thousand decoys along with several electronic callers to bring in the snow geese. The professional guides, dogs, gourmet homecooked meals, and accommodations are all included in the price of our snow goose hunts!
If you reserve a snow goose/ pheasant combo hunt, depending on our scheduling, you’ll either head to the snow goose blind or upland hunt in the morning. Come back to the lodge for a gourmet lunch, and head back out to the fields for your afternoon hunt. Our guided pheasant hunts are the best you will find. Even though all of our fields have both pheasants and quail, some areas hold mostly pheasants. Hunting pheasants behind our pointing dogs can be an exciting experience! We hunt along fence rows, food plots, and native prairie grasses. We manage our pheasant hunting fields to create a one-of-a-kind pheasant hunting experience!
Snow Goose/ Pheasant Hunting Packages
*SOLO HUNTER DATES- March 22nd & 23rd, 2025
You will be hunting with other hunters on both the snow goose and upland hunts. The $150 single upland hunter fee is waived during the March 22nd & 23rd solo hunt dates! If you would like a private guide for the upland hunting portion, please let us know and we can check for availability. The single hunter fee would apply for private guides.
The guides, dogs, meals, accommodations, game cleaning and packaging is all included in the hunt.
Four-Night, Three-Day Snow Goose & Upland Combo Hunting Package – Arrive the day before your hunt, between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hunt for three days and depart after breakfast on the fifth day.
Three-Night, Two-Day Snow Goose & Upland Combo Hunting Package – Arrive the day before the hunt, between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hunt for two days and depart after breakfast on the fourth day.
Snow Goose All Day Hunts- Arrive the day before the hunt, between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hunt the following day in our pit blinds and depart after the hunt. We have one night, one day packages or up to four-night, three-day packages available. Also, daily and half day hunts can be arranged.
Hunting Licenses:
Hunting licenses can be purchased online by going to the IDNR hunting license page. You will need to purchase the following:
- Five Day Hunting License or Full Season Hunting License
- Illinois Migratory Waterfowl Stamp
- HIP Certification (free)
Sporting Clays- We recommend when you book your hunt, that you reserve a round of sporting clays on the day of your arrival. Sporting clays must be reserved in advance.

Deposit Policy
A payment of 50% of your total hunt is due when making your reservations.
Cancellation Policy
If you are booking a Winter/Spring hunt (February-March), all balances must be paid by January 1st. A process fee of 10% of your total booking will be charged when canceling. After January 1st, your entire deposit will be lost. If someone in your original booking does not show, you will be charged the full amount of original amount booked. These policies will help us provide you better service.
Transportation
Lambert St. Louis International Airport is the closest major airport. For private planes, Quincy, Jacksonville, and Pittsfield airports are the closest. Visit our directions page for directions for driving to the lodge.
Open All Year
Come to Heartland for a get-away. This will give you the opportunity to check out the lodge prior to booking a hunting trip. We are open all year. Our Illinois Resort Section has activities available for everyone to enjoy throughout the year!
Arriving A Day Early
You are encouraged to arrive a day early to get settled in after traveling (If available). This allows an extra day before your hunt in case of any travel delays with your flight or gear. It also gives you an extra day to do some site seeing or shoot a round of sporting clays. (Must be reserved in advance).

Can I have more information on the solo upland/snow goose hunt?
I am crippled by stroke, but can walk with cane. I still deer hunt from my blinds, use SUV to get around on farm.
Thinking about a snow goose hunt for 2 days , a stop on way to Tennessee. Would be my girlfriend and I, we are both in our late 70s . I use to live on a lake in Iowa and hunted ducks and geese a lot. Can’t do it anymore, this would probably my last hunt so looking for a good one.
Girlfriend would not hunt.
