Where did Jane Lynch film the Illinois Tourism Campaigns?
Jane Lynch visits Harpole’s Heartland Lodge as part of the Illinois tourism campaign “The Middle of Everything”. A $30.3 million ad campaign highlighting local attractions across the state of Illinois. Jane can be seen in one of the tourism commercials at Heartland’s Original Lodge. This ad campaign will be marketed nationally through multiple outlets, including cable TV networks, to help boost tourism across the state of Illinois.
Jane Lynch is an Illinois native, that has had a very successful career in Hollywood- winning a Golden Globe and Emmy Award.

The actors, production team and Illinois Tourism members enjoyed stayed in the cozy Original Lodge the night before they filmed the commercial with Jane Lynch.
Jane Lynch Film Location Features Heartland’s Original Lodge
The film location Jane Lynch chose at Heartland’s Original Lodge is rich with tradition and memories! This cozy lodge was the first lodge built at Heartland Lodge and is 9,500 square feet. The Original Lodge is one of the favorites among guests who visit each year.
Once you enter and pass through the dining area, you will be welcomed into the incredible Great Room where many of our spectacular photos have been taken. The focal point of this Great Room is the large stone fireplace and two-story cathedral ceiling with our famous antler chandelier. Flanking the fireplace are several Remington statues. While enjoying the warmth and ambience of the Great Room, you can challenge someone to a game of chess or just relax with friends and family.
The Original Lodge features front and back decks complete with Adirondack chairs, rockers and porch gliders. Accessible from the Great Room, the large rear deck overlooks the back yard and bonfire pit. Sit on the deck with your morning cup of coffee and watch the birds at the feeders scattered throughout the property or share your favorite beverage with friends around the roaring bonfire each night. If you are looking for a little peace and quiet, check out the sitting area in the loft overlooking the Great Room – the perfect spot for a quiet conversation or reading a book.
The Recreation Room is located on the lower level of the cabin. A large, flat-screen television, pool table, card/game table and a small library will invite guests to make themselves at home. French doors provide access from the Recreation Room to an outdoor patio area and the bonfire pit. Also located on the lower level is a Boardroom which seats sixteen people at a conference table featuring a painting of the original cabin. Many articles dating back to when the original cabin opened its doors are framed and hanging on the walls of the lower level. We encourage guests to enjoy the history of Heartland Lodge.
