Enjoy our Orvis and Shooting Sportsman Endorsed upland hunting where you will hunt behind the finest bird dogs and guides in the country! After a gourmet lunch, you’ll head to the majestic Mississippi River in search for trophy catfish with “Captain Catfish”! You might just see the ghost of Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn along the bank in the late evening haze!
Cast & Blast Package Details
This new excursion pairs perfectly with a half-day of upland hunting in the early season or late Spring! The temperatures in early fall and late spring are perfect for both upland hunting and fishing on the river. Normally the mornings are cooler, perfect for an early morning stroll in the upland fields behind some of the best bird dogs in the nation!
After enjoying a gourmet lunch, you’ll head to the river with “Captain Catfish” and fish for trophy catfish! The Mississippi River is known to produce some of the best catfishing in the world! Catfish species you could catch include the legendary flathead (known for their pole-breaking fights!), channel cat, blue cat and yellow-bellies!
We will be offering this combo fishing/ upland package during the month of March and September through the third weekend of October.
*The world record catfish was caught just downstream of the lodge! It weighed in at 124 pounds!!

Fishing Ponds at the Lodge
We also have 4 ponds that have a variety of fish species including largemouth bass (8 pounders have been caught!!), crappie, bluegill and channel catfish! To access the fishing ponds from the main lodge, you will need to rent one of our Polaris side by sides or you are more than welcome to bring your own!
