Spring Break Snow Goose/ Upland Combo Hunt
Heartland Lodge offers an upland/ snow goose combo hunt from Mid-February to Mid-March! This hunting package is a great way to experience a variety of wingshooting, all in the same day! There are NO LIMITS, NO PLUGS, massive decoy spreads, comfortable blinds, hot breakfast and professional guides. You will enjoy hunting over thousands of decoys in the Mississippi Flyway.
The best time to hunt snow geese is typically Mid-February through March 25th. While weather is always a factor, when the geese are here, the wingshooting action can be phenomenal! This can be one of the most exciting hunts you will ever experience! Depending on our scheduling, you’ll either head to the snow goose blind or upland hunt in the morning. Come back to the lodge for a gourmet lunch, and head back out to the fields for your afternoon hunt.
*Spring Break SOLO SNOW GOOSE/UPLAND HUNTER DATES- March 22nd & 23rd, 2025
You will be hunting with other hunters on both the snow goose and upland hunts. The $150 single upland hunter fee is waived during the March 22nd & 23rd solo hunt dates! If you would like a private guide for the upland hunting portion, please let us know and we can check for availability. The single hunter fee would apply for private guides.
The guides, dogs, meals, accommodations, game cleaning and packaging is all included in the hunt.

Spring Break Wingshooting Package Details
The guides, dogs, meals, accommodations, game cleaning and packaging is all included in your hunt package.
Wingshooting Package – Arrive the day before your hunt, between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hunt either half or full days. Depart by 11:00 a.m. the morning after your final scheduled hunt. See rates below.
Hunting Licenses:
Hunting licenses can be purchased online by going to the IDNR hunting license page. You will need to purchase the following:
- Five Day Hunting License or Full Season Hunting License (upland & snow goose hunters)
- Illinois Migratory Waterfowl Stamp (snow goose hunters)
- HIP Certification (free) (snow goose hunters)
Sporting Clays- We recommend when you book your hunt, that you reserve a round of sporting clays on the day of your arrival. Sporting clays must be reserved in advance.

Deposit Policy
A payment of 50% of your total hunt is due when making your reservations.
Cancellation Policy
If you are booking a Winter/Spring hunt (February-April), all balances must be paid by January 1st. A process fee of 10% of your total booking will be charged when canceling. After January 1st, your entire deposit will be lost. If someone in your original booking does not show, you will be charged the full amount of original amount booked. These policies will help us provide you better service.
Transportation
Lambert St. Louis International Airport is the closest major airport. For private planes, Quincy, Jacksonville, and Pittsfield airports are the closest. Visit our directions page for directions for driving to the lodge.
Open All Year
Come to Heartland for a get-away. This will give you the opportunity to check out the lodge prior to booking a hunting trip. We are open all year. Our Illinois Resort Section has activities available for everyone to enjoy throughout the year!
Arriving A Day Early
You are encouraged to arrive a day early to get settled in after traveling (If available). This allows an extra day before your hunt in case of any travel delays with your flight or gear. It also gives you an extra day to do some site seeing or shoot a round of sporting clays. (Must be reserved in advance).
